Agrostemma Queen Mixed
This Agrostemma mix produces purple, lilac and white flowers. The Agrostemma, also known as the corncockle, can also found in the wild in several European countries, although only in very limited numbers. This annual plant is therefore also on the Red List of protected plant species. This means that if you plant this flower in your garden you will directly contribute to the conservation of the Agrostemma. This delicate annual summer flower will give you the feeling of having a beautiful field bouquet in your garden. Tip: sow the agrostemma seeds in your border in the empty spaces next to your dahlias.

Annual flower seeds
All our flower seeds produce flowers that are suitable for use as cut flowers. They are also used by professional nurseries and floriculture companies. For flower seeds to be considered high-quality, they need to have outstanding germination capacity and energy and therefore yield a high percentage of flowering plants. All seeds are annuals, which means that they have a lot of growing power: they go through all the stages – from a seed to a flowering plant that, in turn, produces new seeds – in the space of just one season. Most flowers bloom for about three to five months. A rule of thumb in this is that the more flowers you pick, the faster they will grow back! All our seeds are untreated and uncoated, and are also suitable as starting material for growing organic flowers.
Planting instructions:
- Plant in moist soil to which the seeds stick for best germination.
- Press the seeds down lightly, but do not cover them with soil.
- Grow in fertile, well-drained soil.
- Give them a sunny spot and sufficient protection from strong winds. Support if necessary.
- Water regularly.
The Agrostemma needs hardly any care at all. As the seeds are very tiny indeed, sow them and press them down lightly (there is no need to cover them with soil). Attention: as they are poisonous to grazing sheep and chickens, be careful where you plant them! Pinch out any spent flowers to keep them flowering for longer.
